TWIST AND COIL: When you start to twist your body you need to maintain the correct distance between you chest and hands. A coiling motion will get you better results than a swing on a steep plane. LEADING ELBLW: Keep your lead elbow as straight as you can on the back swing. This could possibly be the toughest part to correct but it will have the most rewards. DOWNSWING: The down swing begins when you transfer your weight starting with the hips, not your arms. Sometimes this is difficult to accept. But you to get the best results you have to remember this as you concentrate on leading with your hips, it's not leading with your hands or arms or shoulders. RELAX: Stay loose and relax. When you start the grip and swing should not be tense. If you want your game to improve, relax. THE RELEASE: Finally, where are your arms and hands after the club releases. Your release should be right in line with your target and don't have a twising action. Slicing is frustrating. Most of the time it developes from shortcuting to get power. Take the time to relearn your swing and you will have better results and this will translate to an enjoyable game of golf. Happy Golfing! |
